This week our second and third graders got a chance to meet the author of what promises to be a hit book series.  Students exchanged ideas with Ms. Kear and learned what goes into writing and publishing a book. We look forward to following her interesting and helpful characters as the new books from this series hit the bookstores!  Thanks for a memorable visit!!📚📚📚IMG_6697

Running in the rain!

May 14, 2017

P.S. 124 was well represented at the tenth annual Brooklyn PTA 5K fun run on Saturday, May 13. The 5K race is a fund-raising event sponsored by city councilmembers Brad Lander, Carlos Menchaca, Laurie Cumbo, and Stephen Levin. This year, P.S. 124’s pre-kindergarten dominated the turn-out for our school, with strong support from K and first and second grade. Many thanks to our PTA for providing the biggest and best-supplied support tent in Prospect Park. Runners from other schools may have finished first, but they came to us for refreshments and a place out of the rain.

May 9, 2017

Are you big enough to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge?

Well, P.S. 124’s first graders were big enough for it last year, and this year’s first graders are going to do it for you again, in another special Walk-a-thon effort to raise money for cancer research at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

They already have their sneakers and comfortable walking shoes but they need generous supporters to go online and commit to a donation for research.

and . . .  thank you!
