Ghost Story Narration Writing; Class 5-302

May 10, 2006

Each Ghost Story production group will write ten sentences of narration. When a group has finished their writing and Mr. T or Mr. Rhys has checked it, they can type their final script onto this blog as a 'Response' to this post.

To add your narration:

* click on the green title of this post above

* scroll to the bottom of the post to where it says 'Leave a Response'

* add your group's name where it says 'Name'

* type your narration in the large box

The Next Step:

Find 8-12 images on the Internet that illustrate points you are making in your narration. The movie group will also include a few clips from the movie 'The Innocents' which they have to list. You will copy and paste the addresses (www.ghosts.com…) as 'Responses' to this post.

Ghosts have been thought of causing fatal murders. But what if the ghosts were from the battle of Gettysburg?
The battle of Gettysburg was a deadly battle. The purpose of the battle was to end the Civil War and to decide who won.
The battle fields of Gettysburg are like graveyards due to how many people died there.Gettysburg is located in Pennsylvania. The ghosts that we are studying on are sometimes found in the battle fields they died in.After just browsing around I found some amazing photos about some ghosts.
To get there go to Civilwar.com.Then go to Civil War Links. After that click Pennsylvania. Then feel free and click Gettysburg(1),Gettysburg(2), Gettysburg (3) or Gettysburg(4).That is what the Civil War group is studying on.

    Civil War Group,
Great job so far. Here are a few things to think about with your writing:
    1. Has anyone really “found” ghosts in the battle fields, or have people just told stories about seeing them?

    2. What dates was the battle of Gettysburg fought on?

    3. I love that you are citing the website that you found your information on.

    4. Can you find an example of a specific Civil War ghost story?

Once you guys finish this we can look for images that match the following key words in your writing:
“Gettysburg”, “Ghosts of Gettysburg”, “Civil War”, Gettysburg Graveyard”, and anything else you come up with!

    Do You Believe in Ghosts?
Of all the forlorn, countless souls awash in time, none reach out to us more than those of the dead at Gettysburg. They were young men, mostly, with hopes for a bright future and moved by sincere patriotic dreams, caught up and cruelly thrown down again, in the great, hot whirl of mortal combat.

Their presence on earth was silenced forever by death. Or maybe not . . .

This picture is about a ghost on a cannon. I think the ghost is there because that was the cannon that shot him and made him die.

The majority of the ghosts that we found were in the “setting” where they died. Some ghosts appear where they died because they want revenge on who killed them. Other ghosts that are dead still think that they are alive so they go about their regular business as if they were still breathing. Other ghosts just like to do little pranks or jokes and they are called POLTERGEISTS.
