Story Reading in iMovie from Class 2-203
June 7, 2010
Mr. McMurrer’s class has been working in small groups with Mac Laptops with built-in web cams, and iMovie to record themselves reading their published fiction stories aloud. iMovie allowed the students to see, and listen to themselves read, as well as others, and analyze what makes a read-aloud good.
In this video, 3 of his students explain what they focused on when recording:
- Reading Fluently — Slowly and Clearly, and
- Reading with Expression
This video features some fluent and expressive 2nd graders demonstrating how they read the favorite parts of their stories:

OK. This is one of the greatest classroom videos I have seen on the site. I love what you are doing with clear and expressive reading — this is going to be great for the younger kids to see.
I think you all will be able to get great jobs in the broadcasting business.
