New starting date for September 2009 school year

New York City has changed the start date for students for the 2009-2010 school year. Although report cards will say that school begins on Tuesday, September 8, this is no longer the case. Teachers will report back on Tuesday to set up their rooms and attend meetings. CHILDREN’S FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IN ALL NEW YORK CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS WILL BE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9. There will be an additional school day for children at the end of the year. Friday, June 25, 2010 will be a full school day and Monday, June 28, 2010 will be the last day of school for children with noon dismissal.
