About this video:
Mr. Rhys produced this video, using footage shot during the production of Mr. Marsano’s class’ PSA on global warming last Spring to accompany the The Code of Best Practices in Fair Use for Media Literacy Education, a document released in November 2008 by The Media Education Lab of Temple University, the Center for Social Media in the School of Communication at American University, and the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property in American University’s Washington College of Law.
The Code clarifies how fair use applies to the most common situations where media literacy educators make use of copyrighted materials in their work, and our video is presented on the Media Ed Lab’s website with their curriculum materials help promote confident and legal use of copyrighted material in educational settings.
The video highlights the professionalism and attention to detail that Mr. Marsano’s students demonstrated during the critical decision-making process of producing their video.
Great work students! Thank you for giving your permission to share your work with the educational community to help people understand the video production process, and fair use!!!
