The Colorful PS 124 Garden

To all of the people in the whole wide world,
Here are some of the things Class 1-204 did in the garden:
We grew radishes, corn, sunflowers, onions, tomatoes, peppers, and nasturtium flowers.
We got corn seeds from the corn that we grew in the garden, and we made popcorn on the day that we harvested the corn. We saved some of the seeds to plant in the garden in the Spring.
We will have earthworms in our classroom soon. They are going to help us do the gardening, because they are hungry and they eat the dead plants in the soil, and they turn it into compost.
See you in the garden!

vocabulary:
- harvest: Collecting all of the food that the plants made for us to eat.
- compost: Compost is any plant material that is dead. We use it to put food back into the soil for plants to use again and grow healthy.

Class 1-204,
I love your garden! Keep up the good work, and save me some popcorn!
Dear class 1-204,
You seem to be very happy gardeners! I like that you are working hard on keeping our graden going. I hope that you wil write about what you did today in the garden.
Wow, that looks like fun! And you all look so serious. Was it cold outside? What’s going to happen to the garden in the winter?
