Introduction to the Blog (Group Lesson)

This post can be used to lead a class discussion of blogs.

1. What is a “blog”?
* blog (blôg) n. Online diary or journal with dated entries. Combination of the words “web” and “log”.
* wikipedia’s definition of “blog”

2. Examples of blogs:

Elementary Student’s Blog
A soldier in Iraq
Librarian’s blog
Surfnetkids Journal

3. How we will use the PS124 Web Log
* To share our work with people everywhere on the Internet.
* Posting images from the Internet with our writing.
* To post our research questions along with website addresses, special pictures and notes.

4. Let’s make a Post
* Post our guiding question
* Break the guiding question into Key Words
* Search for the Key Words
* Post the web address, notes, and an image from the website
